I woke up this morning and downloaded directly to my iPhone the latest album by Death Cab for Cutie, Narrow Stairs, released today. I’d like to applaud Apple for finding a way to get to perpetually give them money and thank them for it. I was able to listen to the entire album already on my trek in to work and am incredibly satisfied. Music tends to find me at the exactly right time (I’m lucky like that) and this is no exception.
You can listen to the entire album on Muxtape here.
The song that stood out for me immediately was the single, I Will Possess Your Heart. It’s untraditionally a rather creepy and stalkerish song and throws me off, but sounds really beautiful and besides, Ben Gibbard can only be good intentioned in my mind. Here’s how it starts off:
How I wish you could see the potential, the potential of you and me
It’s like a book elegantly bound, but in a language that you can’t read - just yet
Other immediate favorites include:
- No Sunlight
- Cath..
- The Ice Is Getting Thinner
awww. I’m seriously behind on new releases. I appreciate the post and the link the muxtape, but you’re only contributing to my laziness. Thank you!
P .S - I like long division a lot.

If it’s on TV and it’s entertaining, it counts as entertainment news, right? No? Oh well, this is too funny. And you’re right, kid. It is fun to do bad things.
“I wanted to do hoodrat stuff with my friends.” Kid, you’re ridiculous.

The trailer for Chuck Palahniuk’s new book, “Snuff”.
- Looks like another great read from Mr. Palahniuk.
Indeed! FYI, it comes out May 20th but Amazon is taking pre-orders for it now (If you pre-order it you save 5% at checkout). Even if you don’t want to pre-order it, head over to the amazon page and watch the video on the page. Chuck interviews Cassie Wright (aka a drag queen).

Give me a break! The patent system is flawed. How can you patent a shape?
