Peep Peep got his annual test at AID ATL and is still in primo condition ya’all! The lady who took my test was excited by my enthusiasm for free condoms…hell, I will take free condoms anytime, anywhere!

yes!  it is important to get tested regularly folks!  i’m probably getting close to my 4 month check up.  how often do you guys get tested?

I got tested yesterday and I wanted to pass along some more useful information that I found out during my visit:

• depending on how sexually active you are and what kind of acts you engage you can pick an interval to get tested.  You should probably get checked at LEAST twice a year
• if you engage in risky sexual behavior you should also know that getting tested the next day or the next week won’t tell you much.  There is a ‘window’ of time it takes for HIV to show up.  They believe that it is somewhere between 30 and 60 days but its different in everyone.
• Did you know that if you contract HIV you might not see any of the effects for 3 or more years.  You won’t feel sick but you’ll still be able to pass that on to other people.  In fact, one quarter of the HIV-infected persons in the United States do not know that they are infected.  That’s one of the main reasons why you want to get checked regularly.
• Did you know that you are 20 times more likely to contract HIV from anal sex versus vaginal sex
